Past Mayors

Glastonbury, a town steeped in history, has been guided by several distinguished mayors who have significantly contributed to its community. Notably, Henry Folliott Scott-Stokes served as mayor six times and was the first Freeman of Glastonbury. 

Being a mayor in such a town entails a profound responsibility to serve and uplift the community. This role often involves spearheading initiatives that support local causes, such as fundraising for charities. For instance, in 2021, Mayor Jon Cousins donated £400 to the Glastonbury People’s Trust, assisting residents in need. 

Through these efforts, mayors play a pivotal role in fostering a spirit of unity and compassion within Glastonbury.
