I have lived in Glastonbury for almost 11 years, but have been visiting since the 70s. In my professional life, I worked mainly in the fashion business, becoming Operations Manager for the Raybeck organisation, and later working with Next PLC. I then joined English Heritage, where I was responsible for all the manned and unmanned sites across the five counties that make up the West Midlands, working with inspectors and curators. My role included responsibility for visitors, re-enactments, theatre and opera productions, as well as sole responsibility for more than 50 staff and a team of maintenance workers.
On retirement, I trained as a psychotherapist and worked for Mind in London and Leicestershire. I have also volunteered with Citizens Advice, and worked with UNICEF in Nepal, India and the Middle East.
I became a Town Councillor by default, and hope I have done a reasonable job.
