Jon Cousins

Four-time former Mayor, Jon Cousins, is a dedicated community organiser.  First elected in 2011, he advocates for residents to ensure local voices directly shape council decisions, particularly through Advisory Committees made up of councillors and members of the public, and People’s Assemblies.  As Mayor, he inaugurated Glastonbury’s ‘Citizen of the Year Award’ in 2017, chaired the Neighbourhood Plan, supported the creation of Glastonbury Information Centre and ‘Last Bank Standing’ campaign, and worked closely with Nationwide to open a new Glastonbury branch. He loves Glastonbury’s unique heritage, resilient community spirit, and the collaborative, grass-roots energy that makes the town so special.
