The long Bank Holiday Weekend celebrations open with the lighting of Glastonbury’s ‘Platinum Jubilee Beacon’ on the Tor at 9:30 pm following a short ceremony at the top of the Tor. Space on the Fairfield is being made available for those who do not wish or are not able to climb the Tor.

Glastonbury’s ‘Platinum Jubilee Pageant’ will celebrate Sovereignty with the theme of “Queens and Kings for the day” setting off at 2pm from the top of the High Street. The pageant will conclude in the Abbey, where you’re encouraged to bring your own picnic and celebrate with Glastonbury Brass Band, Glastonbury St. George Mummers Play and Children’s World.

The day will open with a Civic Procession from the Town Hall to St. John’s Church, where a special Platinum Jubilee Service takes place at 11am.
The Church Service is followed by our ‘Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch’ (so bring your favourite picnic food!) on Glastonbury High Street (supported by Glastonbury Co-Op) from 12:30pm, concluding the long Bank Holiday Weekend.
