Bringing Colour & Life to Glastonbury
We wish to involve many members of our Glastonbury Community even those without green fingers, to help Glastonbury look its finest during the year. In the Summer the High Street businesses have the option of having hanging baskets to bring lots of colours to the High Street. Wild and bee friendly flowers have been sprinkled in those neglected areas in order to establish large blankets of wildflowers (Blue Heart campaign) helping Glastonbury look beautiful.
For 2026 the Glastonbury in Bloom committee have agreed to the colour theme of “Kindness and Community” which consists of colours from the rainbow.
We have won Gold at the Southwest in Bloom annual competition now for 6 consecutive years and with your help we could make 7 and winning Gold first time in Britain in Bloom in 2024. Judging normally takes place in July and with your help make Glastonbury a real contender against the other Towns and Cities that also enter this competition. Join with us and watch not only the flowers bloom – but the project itself!
Don’t forget we have our annual Glastonbury in Bloom residents’ competition, so if you have a garden or even a garden container you are proud of then enter our free competition. There is a presentation evening in October to announce the winners which you will be invited to. Glastonbury in Bloom relies on the generous support of our sponsors to continue our work in keeping Glastonbury vibrant, green, and beautifully blooming. We’re always looking for new partners to help us make our town even more marvellous!
‘In Bloom” is so much more than the floral displays that the Town Council organises for Glastonbury (beautiful though they are)! It’s about our fantastic community and all that they do. Gabriel Avalon’s video captures it perfectly.
