Glastonbury in Bloom

We wish to involve many members of our Whole Community. We shall supply hanging baskets for the shops as usual and we also want to include many of the other areas around and about Glastonbury that have been forgotten over the years. Wild and bee friendly flowers will be sprinkled in those neglected areas in order to establish large blankets of wild flowers helping Glastonbury look beautiful.
Join with us and watch not only the flowers bloom – but the project itself!

St Ben’s pupils triumph in Glastonbury in Bloom poster competition

The creative, artistic pupils of St. Benedict’s have emerged victorious in the Glastonbury in Bloom poster competition, scooping awards in both the younger and older pupils’ categories. Their posters will be seen around town to advertise Glastonbury in Bloom, which is due to be judged in July 2021. In the lower school, Grace from Year 4 won the runners’ up prize, with Freya scooping the top prize for her fabulous design. In the upper school the plaudits went to Felicity (runner-up) and Alif (winner) for their colourful posters. The judges’ pick went to Year 4, Kyla for her vibrant flower design. All award winners received prizes and a framed copy of their poster.

Raised Beds for Happy Heads

This year, with funding support from the Glastonbury in Bloom committee, pupils from St Ben’s school have established raised beds throughout the Glastonbury community with the aim of spreading a splash of colour and a little happiness. Here are pupils from Year 3 planting up their beds outside the GP surgery on Feversham Lane.

Glastonbury in Bloom needs your help in preparation for the South West in Bloom judging. If you can spare a couple of hours on Sunday 18th July 2021, please meet at Glastonbury Town Hall, Magdalene Street, Glastonbury at 10am.  We aim to be finished at 12pm. Hi-Viz vests and equipment will be supplied.
