Remembrance Day Service

November 10, 2019 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Town Hall

Arrangements this year are a little different than previous years due to St Johns church being closed for refurbishment. The parade led by Glastonbury Brass will leave the Town Hall at approximately 10.30am. Glastonbury Brass will lead the parade followed by the Worshipful Mayor Cllr Denise Michell and other dignitaries. On arrival at the war memorial in the High Street, standards will be lowered by the bearers, wreaths will be laid by officials representing the many organisations and authorities, followed by a period of silence to acknowledge the sacrifice of those who fought and fell in conflicts around the world. The procession will then return to the Town Hall where the service of remembrance will take place.

The usual laying of wreaths on Armistice Day, 11th November will take place at 11.00am in Glastonbury and 12 noon at the Morlands memorial on Street Road.
