Situation Vacant – Visitor Experience Manager

We are seeking an accomplished and entrepreneurial Visitor Experience Manager to lead a team of staff and volunteers to promote this iconic Town, establishing high quality standards for the visitor experience, promoting Glastonbury, sourcing products, and increasing revenue. Excellent IT skills are required to update and manage the Glastonbury Information Centre website, as well as excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with other visitor attractions in the Town.

The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and retail operation of both the Glastonbury Information Centre and the Tribunal building; overseeing the management of our general information service to ensure accurate information is available for all enquiries. The post holder will also lead the development of an events space and enhancement of the museum in the Tribunal Building.

This is a key role, responsible for managing and delivering the aims and objectives of the Town Council’s tourism and information service; ensuring the highest quality of visitor experience. Flexibility in this role is essential, as it may include weekend working and evening events.

As a manager who leads from the front, you will head up a small team including paid staff and volunteers. You will motivate your team to high standards; be responsible for staff rotas and the day-to-day management of both the Information Centre and the Tribunal building.

The Visitor Experience Manager will lead the front-of-house team to ensure that all visitors have a fantastic and enjoyable experience. The Visitor Experience Manager will contribute towards delivering the strategic objectives of the Town Council and be responsible for managing an annual budget; increasing visitor numbers and income – along with overseeing the development and delivery of a dynamic public events and exhibition programme across both buildings.
