Glastonbury Town Council is pleased to announce the following events for Michaelmas weekend
Saturday, 24th September: Planting of new Holy Thorn tree in the garden of St Dunstan’s House. Events beginning at Market Cross at 1 pm, including a blessing of the Rowan ‘Memorial’ Tree, leading to a procession to the Queen’s Canopy Oak in St Dunstan’s carpark, Blessing of the Bees, readings, poems and songs from members of the Avalonian Free State Choir.
Sunday 25th September: Glastonbury Town Hall from 2 pm until 6 pm, a free screening marking the centenary of Alice Buckton’s 1922 film ‘Glastonbury Past and Present’, the Glastonbury St. George Mumming play by John Constable, and talk by local author Paul Weston commemorating the late Queen, including film rushes of this year’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant Celebrations in Glastonbury.
