The centre of Glastonbury has been temporarily pedestrianised for the coming few weeks. The High Street, Magdalene Street and Benedict Street are closed to traffic with delivery access only. This is to assist social distancing now that non-essential shops are re-opening.
Safety is the primary driver with the decision to reduce the amount of traffic using the High Street. Parking in the High Street has been removed and it is assumed therefore that there is no place for a disabled motorist to stop. There is no charging in the car parks and access is available through the various walkways from car parks to the High Street. There is disabled parking within St Dunstan’s car park, Butts Close, St John’s and Norbins Road.
