Glastonbury has a small Community Hospital and two excellent Health Centres. It is also home to a wide range of Alternative Practitioners. More Info


Glastonbury has three state schools and most children travel through them until the age of 16. The Infant and Junior schools are CofE and the senior school is a Community College. In addition there are several local village schools, some pre-schools and Millfields private school. More Info

Glastonbury Library

As well as the Library also represented in the building are the Mendip District Council Information Point, Mendip Citizen’s Advice Bureau and the Glastonbury Antiquarian Library.   Click  here for opening times and further information about Glastonbury library.

In addition the town is home to the esoteric Library of Avalon


Glastonbury has a Leisure Centre and the Tor Leisure recreation grounds with tennis & netball courts and football & cricket pitches. Neighbouring Street has two swimming pools. Street is also home to the Strode theatre. Glastonbury also has several small parks with children's play areas and a purpose built skateboard park. More Info

Glastonbury is reputed to have had the oldest Christian Church in England and has a long history as a place of pilgrimage. In more recent times it has attracted 'pilgrims' from many faiths and beliefs and remains a spiritual centre to this day. More Info
